On Saturday, a few friends and I went to a restaurant I'd call "Denny and Alan worthy".
They served the most delicious food, and for the first time in my life I savored a sauce made of of mashed dried plums and walnuts, which was served with tender chicken breast. Giant gourmet bliss! Oh, and there was SAFFRON rice on the side!;-)
Okay, Denny might miss his steak, but they serve plenty of charcoal grilled goodies. And what your neighborhood Boston steak place does not offer: belly dancing! She was really, really breathtakingly moving, all muscles shaking, and swirling around good!
The ambience of the restaurant is beautiful, too... but have a look yourself:

T'was such a grand episode! :-)
Picture size is 624x352, alas, they are not fully visible due to the journal style I am using. If you download the pics, you'll get their actual size.
And if you are looking for a particular scene and don't find it here, let me know... I'll help if I have it grabbed:-)

Just a few hours until [info]cathrine_crane will arrive... Cathrine, My!Denny and me, we'll definitey have some scotch tonight, all in style from our Bormioli glasses, and we'll toast to tomorrow's events.

Tomorrow will be a very special day for us. We'll drive to Bonn to attend FedCon XVII, a huge convention with plenty of guests from Star Trek and other SF series. A small group of people from our BL-website www.crane-poole-schmidt.de plus a few friends will have the opportunity to get together with René Auberjonois, who played Paul Lewiston (and hopefuly will play him again now and then, as he did in episode 04x06 "Oral Contracts" - see photo).
We're pretty excited about the whole thing. René has agreed to spend one hour with us, and we hope we can chat about Boston Legal a bit... or a bit more...;-)

I'm still all awe and wonder! What a great episode, of things that are and will be, of fate and friendship. And spiced with the usual crazyness that makes Boston Legal a "dramedy" series - this time in the shape of Nantuckett wanting an A-bomb.
Funny thing is, they could afford one! Carl Sack was his cute cynical best in this episode, and once again I noticed how good an actor John Larroquette is.
As is Candice Bergen... Shirley Schmidt, lips quivering, was a new one - and totally believable. She fought for her father in court, and suffered with him.
William Shatner brought a seriousness to Denny that I liked very much. Denny knows what may be in store for him, and he is afraid. Bravo, Sir Shat!

Alas, nobody had any chance last night to even remotely come close to James Spader. Alan sees, through Shirley and her terribly suffering father, how things could become - will become! - for Denny and for him. To be forced to say "now is the time" one day.
The way James Spader plays this - angry, frustrated, drained, loving, caring - is acting at its finest. Sometimes it's small gestures, just an eyebrow or the lip, sometimes big ones with lots of body input and arms flying. He masters ALL ways of expressing himself, of body language and mimics. Ah, and do I smell another Emmy just around the corner?!?

It's almost a waste that there was a third plot involving Jerry. Uh, and what a gorgeous redhead did he encounter there?! (note to self: google the actress!) I'd rather see more "main plot action" , honestly.... and for Jerry, Clarence, Lorraine, Katie, Whitney more action in another episode.

Last but not least:
David E. Kelley, Bill D'Elia, may I kiss the hems of your... whatever you are wearing!? That script is so damn good!

"Mun" means "mouth" in Swedish...
It's funny I found that just a few minutes ago, because I made some very mouth-orientated icons today.

And I still need more icons! Is there such thing as icon addiction?

Finally I managed to get some new icons done. Nothing special, just some shore-istic expressions I didn't have yet. I still lack talent, skill, and patience to do anything else... like the gorgeous artsy stuff the iconmakers in all these splendid icon comunities spoil us rotten with:-)

I also came up with a case Alan could have... and I definitely spent too much time on researching that. But then, I wanted this to be a good and interesting case. So I chose, in consent with my co-player, a tricky and controversial subject, nonetheless one that has been talked about a lot recently, due to a case braught before Germany's high court.

Watched "Bathing with Bierko" again! It is soo good, so funny! If you haven't seen it yet, here you go:

Another recommendation would be a movie I finally saw, "December Boys" I didn't know much about it, other than Daniel Radcliffe being in the cast. You could describe it as "'Stand By Me' in Australia" or "'Cider House Rules' in Australia". A movie about growing up and friendship, very well done, imo.

Again, I could not resist. [info]margin_oferror had this in her journal.

The time I need and require just for myself.
That can be a few seconds of deep thought, that can be an hour of precious reading time, that can be all and can be nothing.
I just don't like it then. I get grumpy. Come back later, and I will love you again!;-)

"Magic Paper" is the name of the theme... and YES, it truly is!
I spent hours yesterday night to look at all sorts of themes, and I remember that I had seen this before... but then, I couldn't use it for an RPG account, because I wanted to have a Shore-picture in it. But now there's finally an opportunity to let it shine....  Simone Plebani, thanks for sharing this great theme, you're a genius!

Just surfed by  williamshatner.com and saw that the chat with Sir Shat got postponed again. Geez, he's such a busy bee! Actually, it might be better for me to have a chat at a later date. We switch to daylight savings time this coming weekend, so with an hour stolen from me, to stay up that late (Eastern + 6 hours!) might be tough. But whenever the chat will be held, I hope I will make it. The first one (some pre Emmy or Golden Globe chat) was a lot of fun, and the name "Sir Shat" was born there.

This LJ has been waiting for my attention for some time. I created it a while ago for role-playing... which I might do at some time, or may not. Depends on time, schedule, and opportunity.

The reason for me to finally spring into action today is a story I like very much, which I found at [info]madcowlove. It's a short and very beautiful piece by [info]yanjara called "Fear in a Handful of Dust". It's about Denny and Alan - about the flamingos. Sad and good, well written.
Just a tiny warning: don't read if you don't want to hear about character death.
